Job summary

Citco Group of Companies in Makati seeks a Kafka Engineer to support and administer the Kafka Platform Service within IT Operations Middleware. You will deploy and operate enterprise-grade event streaming infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security, collaborating with Development, Architecture, and Technology Managers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or similar event streaming platforms.
• Experience deploying and managing Kafka clusters in production, including broker configuration and ACL administration.
• Hands-on with Kafka ecosystem tools such as Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, MirrorMaker 2, and other compatible platforms.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging patterns.
• Experience with Terraform or Ansible for IaC.
• Experience with centralized logging/monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, and EFK stack.
• Understanding of Kafka security including TLS, SASL-SCRAM, and ACL management.
• Linux/Unix administration background; good networking concepts for distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Rundeck).
• Prior on-call rotation experience for critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate Apache Kafka clusters across multiple environments.
• Implement event streaming solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Continuously improve Kafka platform performance and capacity planning.
• Develop and maintain automation for Kafka provisioning and operations using IaC.
• Onboard new producers and consumers with application teams.
• Troubleshoot Kafka-related issues with minimal customer impact.
• Ensure platform security and data governance compliance.
• Maintain observability with metrics, dashboards, and alerting.
• Contribute to Event Catalog and Subscription API development and maintenance.
• Document runbooks, procedures, and platform standards.
