Job summary

TerraBarn Inc. in Makati is seeking a Kafka Engineer to manage and scale our Apache Kafka clusters across multiple environments. The role focuses on implementing enterprise event-streaming solutions, tuning performance, and developing IaC automation to support production services.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands-on Kafka experience, familiarity with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, MirrorMaker 2, and CI/CD tools. Hybrid work arrangement and health benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
• Knowledge of Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and MirrorMaker 2.
• Experience with Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and EFK Stack.
• Understanding of Kafka security (TLS, SASL-SCRAM, ACLs).
• Linux administration and networking knowledge.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, or Rundeck.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate Apache Kafka clusters across multiple environments.
• Implement and support enterprise event-streaming solutions.
• Perform platform performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Develop automation using Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Support application teams with Kafka onboarding and integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues.
• Maintain platform security, governance, and compliance standards.
• Enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities.
• Create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
