As a Junior Finance Analyst, you will support financial planning, analysis, reporting, and decision-making across the business. You will work closely with Finance and Operations teams to transform financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights that help leaders understand performance and make informed decisions.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, combined with a strong foundation in financial reporting and month-end activities. You will also contribute to reconciliations, KPI reporting, dashboards, and data analysis while developing your skills in tools such as Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.
Depending on the team assignment, you may support UK-based Commercial and Fixed Asset teams or take greater ownership of financial analysis and reporting activities as an individual contributor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to help the business monitor and manage financial performance.
- Perform variance analysis by comparing actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods, including month-on-month and year-on-year analysis.
- Investigate key variances, identify underlying drivers, and communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare and support regular financial and management reporting, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and delivered within required timelines.
- Assist with month-end financial activities, including reconciliations, data validation, and preparation of reporting inputs.
- Consolidate and analyze financial and operational data from multiple sources to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare, maintain, and validate KPI reports, dashboards, and financial reporting packs for management review.
- Reconcile financial and operational data to source information and flag discrepancies or unusual movements for further investigation.
- Support rolling forecast activities and contribute to improving forecast accuracy through data analysis and driver-based thinking.
- Use Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data, perform calculations, build reports, and support basic financial modelling.
- Develop and enhance reporting processes using Power Query and Power BI, with opportunities to automate and visualize recurring reports and financial information.
- Support finance-related business requests, audit activities, KPI reporting, and other routine analysis as required.
- Work closely with Finance teams including Group and Commercial Finance, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Depending on team assignment, support UK-based Commercial and Fixed Asset activities and collaborate with international stakeholders.
- Maintain clear documentation and workings for analysis and reporting to ensure information is accurate, traceable, and audit-ready.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, reduce manual work, and improve reporting cycle times.
- Communicate financial findings clearly through concise summaries, tables, charts, and other visualizations.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks from data validation through completion, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and escalating issues when necessary.
- Support the team during peak finance cycles, including month-end, budgeting, and longer-term planning activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in financial analysis, FP&A, reporting, commercial finance, or a similar finance-related role.
- Hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis is strongly preferred.
- Experience conducting financial variance analysis, including month-on-month and year-on-year comparisons, with the ability to identify and explain key drivers.
- Experience supporting month-end reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and basic financial modelling.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and core FP&A concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Candidates who are working toward a CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with a strong interest in further professional or academic development, including pursuing a master’s degree, are an advantage.
- Exposure to Power BI and Power Query is an advantage, with willingness to further develop these skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to turn financial data into clear and actionable insights.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, well‑organized, and audit‑ready work.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to both Finance and non‑Finance stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet reporting and month‑end deadlines.
- Comfortable working onsite as part of a collaborative Manila‑based Finance team supporting an international organization.
- Willingness to occasionally work a mid‑shift schedule, with a 1PM or 2PM start, to support UK‑based teams when required.
- Experience supporting international clients or stakeholders is an advantage.
- Experience in a commercial finance, corporate finance, shared services, or multinational environment is an advantage.
- Highly curious, proactive, detail‑oriented, collaborative, and willing to continuously learn and improve.
