Internal Job Title: Investor Reporting Analyst (Finance)
Location: Skyrise 4B, 16th & 17th Floor, West Geonzon Street, Cebu IT Park, Cebu City
Work Set-Up: Onsite (Monday to Friday)
Schedule: Night Shift (US Pacific Time)
Position Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Analyst to support our US-based client in financial reporting, reconciliation, data analysis, and other finance-related operational activities. In this role, you will work with financial and reporting data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across assigned processes. You will perform reconciliations, review and analyze data, investigate discrepancies and exceptions, maintain accurate records, and ensure that reporting activities are completed within established deadlines. Candidates with backgrounds in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, reconciliation, reporting, or related analytical functions are encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform financial reporting, reconciliation, research, and data analysis activities at the assigned account, loan, or pool levels.
- Review financial and reporting data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements and procedures.
- Perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, exceptions, and variances by reviewing relevant financial and operational data.
- Identify patterns, trends, spikes, aged items, and other unusual activity that may require further investigation or resolution.
- Conduct research and analysis to determine the root cause of reporting or financial discrepancies and assist in implementing appropriate resolutions.
- Prepare and update reports, trackers, and other required documentation while ensuring that all information is accurate and completed within established deadlines.
- Apply mathematical and analytical techniques to evaluate financial and reporting data and support accurate decision-making.
- Use Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and reconcile large sets of data using functions such as VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
- Follow established policies, procedures, checklists, and cut-off activities to ensure that reporting and operational deadlines are consistently met.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to assigned processes and activities.
- Communicate with onshore team members through email and other appropriate channels to provide updates, clarify requirements, and address issues as needed.
- Participate in team projects and process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and reduce manual work.
- Contribute insights and recommendations based on analysis of work products, trends, variances, and recurring issues.
- Support the documentation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and process guidelines for assigned activities.
- Participate in training and development activities to strengthen knowledge of finance, reporting, reconciliation, and related processes.
- Perform other duties and initiatives as assigned by leadership to support business and operational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related analytical field.
- At least 1–2 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, reconciliation, reporting, data analysis, or a related field is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with relevant finance or accounting experience or reconciliation internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills, with the ability to work with financial and operational data accurately.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling financial data and repetitive reconciliation activities.
- Highly organized, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines.
- Comfortable working with structured, repetitive, and process-driven tasks, particularly reconciliation, data validation, and reporting activities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and determine appropriate resolutions.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with US-based/onshore team members.
- Willingness and ability to learn new financial processes, systems, tools, and industry-specific requirements.
- Experience in Investor Reporting, Fund Accounting or Mortgage Servicing, is an advantage but not required.
- Experience with SQL or other data analysis tools is an advantage, particularly for candidates interested in data analytics-focused assignments.
- Willing to work fully onsite at the Cebu IT Park office.
- Willing to work on a permanent night shift schedule from 9:00PM to 6:00AM PHT, Monday to Friday.
- Preferably someone who can start ASAP or within 30 days.
