Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, Interior Design or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Some prior experience or exposure to construction project design work, whether through employment, internship, or academic projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Sketchup is required; experience in rendering softwares is desirable.
• Basic understanding of architectural and mechanical drawing conventions, National Building Code of the Philippines, and construction documentation practices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when interpreting and producing technical drawings.
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple drawings or revisions concurrently.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work well within a team, taking direction from senior design staff.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed architectural and mechanical drawings for new construction projects based on layouts and design direction provided by the Design Team Manager, ensuring compliance with drafting standards and project requirements.
• Develop and update floor plans, elevations, sections, and mechanical schematics using Autocad.
• Develop 3D Models using Sketchup Application.
• Translate conceptual designs into technically accurate, buildable drawing sets that meet project specifications, construction standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Check drawings for dimensional accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable building codes and standards.
• Incorporate revisions and feedback from the Design Team Manager and other project stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Maintain organized, version-controlled drawing files and documentation in line with company standards.
• Coordinate with senior designers, engineers, cross-departmental and project teams to ensure drawings reflect current project requirements.
• Support site or project teams by producing supplementary drawings, details, or sketches as requested.
• Keep up to date with relevant CAD tools, drafting standards, and construction documentation practices.
• Assist in the preparation and updating of as-built drawings, drawing reviews, and construction documentation as required.
• Participate in site visits, field verification, or measurement activities when required to validate existing conditions and support drawing production.

Position Overview

Working under the direction of the Design Team Manager, the Junior Designer will translate approved layouts and design concepts into detailed, construction-ready architectural and mechanical drawings. This is an entry-level role suited to a candidate with some prior exposure to interior fit-out project design and construction, hands-on experience with Autocad and Sketchup, looking to build their technical drawing and documentation skills within a professional design environment. The role is primarily focused on technical drafting, construction documentation, and design coordination rather than conceptual design development (This helps avoid attracting purely creative design candidates).

Knowledge in D5 render is a plus but not required.
