Job summary

Motolite is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to prepare machine/equipment and tooling design documentation, from dismantling to generating accurate CAD drawings. You will assist in on-site design assessments, dismantling/re-assembly, and creating detailed drawings with CAD, while inputting material specifications into SAP.

The role requires knowledge of machine design, materials, manufacturing processes, and a minimum of 2 years in design and drafting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in design and drafting of equipment and tooling.
• Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or related Technology with relevant trainings.
• Knowledge of machine design, strength of materials, manufacturing processes, metal joining.

Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site project design assessment and documentation.
• Assist in dismantling and re-assembly to assure accurate dimensional positioning.
• Prepare parts and sub-assembly sketches with necessary dimensions.
• Initiate design improvements with computations for effectiveness.
• Prepare standard components lists with specs for easy procurement.
• Create assembly drawings with accurate drawings using CAD and input material specs in SAP.
• Produce fabrication drawings and maintain hard copies and server backups.
• Monitor projects from start to finish to minimize NCRs and ensure fast delivery.
• Attend tests and design reviews, adjust designs until validated and certified.
• Initiate DCNs for all design deviations and update drawing files.
• Assist other projects as directed by Machine Design Supervisor.

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for preparing machine/equipment and tooling design and/or reengineering documentation from dismantling to generating accurate CAD drawings.

Key Responsibilities: PRINCIPAL DUTIES 1. Carry out on site project design assessment and documentation. 2. Assists in machine/equipment dismantling and re-assembly to assure accurate dimensional positioning. 3. Prepares parts and sub-assembly sketches with necessary dimensions. 4. Initiates design improvements supported with computations to ensure effectiveness. 5. Prepares list of standard components with corresponding specifications for easy material purchase and preparation. 6. Prepares sound assembly drawings with accurate detailed working drawings using CAD and prepares material PR by inputting material specifications in SAP. 7. Prepares one set of fabrication drawing in hard copies and back up drawing files both in server. 8. Monitors assigned projects from start to finish to ensure minimal NCR’s, fast delivery and development. 9. Attend to actual testings and design reviews during project development and initiates adjustment(s) as required until the final products are validated and certified. 10. Initiates DCNs for all design deviations and updates all affected drawing files. 11. Attend to other projects that may be assigned by the Machine Design Supervisor and D & E Assistant Manager.

Qualifications: Knowledge Requires knowledge in machine design, strength of materials, manufacturing process, metal joining, material selection, standard industrial/mechanical components. Skills and Abilities Adeptness in autocad operation, sketching and measuring. Ability to specify standard industrial/mechanical components. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to render long hours of work. Ability to institute engineering solutions on machines, equipments and/or toolings. Knowledge and skills identified above are typically acquired through graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Technology course with relevant trainings and seminars and a minimum 2 years experience in design and drafting of equipment and tooling (s).
