Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Full Stack Java Engineer in Mexico to design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native applications. You will work across backend and frontend with hands-on experience building distributed systems using Kafka and AWS services.

The role emphasizes building RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrating React frontend with Java backend, along with CI/CD, testing, and Agile collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8+ / Java 17+.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and Java collections.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or DynamoDB.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java/Spring Boot and React.
• Develop robust RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Develop Kafka producers and consumers, manage topics, partitions, consumer groups, and message processing.
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications running on AWS.
• Work with AWS services such as EKS/ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, SQS/SNS, and related cloud services.
• Develop highly available and fault-tolerant distributed applications.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, and other developers in an Agile environment.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Understanding of topics, partitions, offsets, consumer groups, replication, and message delivery semantics.
• Experience troubleshooting Kafka-based distributed systems.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.

AWS / Cloud

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience deploying and operating applications in AWS.
• Knowledge of services such as EKS/ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, SQS, and SNS.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and cloud-based deployment pipelines.
