Job summary

Amanpulo in the Philippines is seeking a Head Chef for our Japanese restaurant, leading culinary operations and delivering authentic, high-quality cuisine reflecting traditional techniques and modern innovation.

You will oversee menu development, source premium ingredients, manage food preparation, train kitchen staff, and ensure high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation in a fast-paced, ultra-luxury setting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Proven knowledge of kitchen operations and management.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with menu costing and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct daily food preparation and service in the Japanese kitchen.
• Expedite and coordinate orders ensuring teamwork.
• Assist Executive Chef with menu compilation and full menu knowledge.
• Maintain food standards and consistency of produce.
• Ensure compliance with labeling and temperature controls.
• Help manage labour and food costs to meet targets.
• Identify ways to improve profitability.
• Communicate business information clearly to the team.
• Mentor and train junior chefs.
