Job summary

Sealed Air in Manila, Philippines is seeking a Senior SAP BASIS Engineer to own SAP system administration end-to-end from ECC to S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, and Solution Manager. You will ensure secure, compliant, and high-performing SAP landscapes across global operations.

The role collaborates with DBAs and system admins, planning upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery while maintaining robust documentation and IT policy compliance. Manila-based SSC supports global SAP operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SAP BASIS administration.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience with high-availability setup and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA upgrades/migrations.
• Strong knowledge of SAP system security concepts and user administration.
• Experience with SAP databases such as HANA, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform system copies, client copies, backups/restores, and SAP kernel upgrades.
• Monitor SAP system performance and tune as needed.

• Support SAP projects with functional and development teams.
• Ensure system compliance with IT policies and SAP best practices.
• Plan and execute system refreshes, patches, and maintenance tasks.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Prepare and maintain system documentation and knowledge base.

What does an IT Operations Platform Basis Engineer do?

Reporting to the IT Operations Principal Basis Engineer, the Platform Basis Engineer manages and supports Sealed Air's SAP technical environments, based out of our Manila SSC. This role owns SAP system administration end-to-end — from installation and upgrades to performance tuning and transport landscape management — keeping SAP-supported business processes running reliably across ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, and Solution Manager.

You’ll work at the intersection of infrastructure and business-critical SAP operations, partnering closely with DBAs, system administrators, and functional/development teams to keep our global SAP landscape secure, compliant, and performing.

What are we looking for in you?

• 5+ years of experience in SAP BASIS administration
• Strong knowledge of SAP system architecture, transport routes, and landscape design
• Experience with HANA DB, Oracle, SQL Server, or other SAP-supported databases
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA upgrades/migrations is a plus
• Working knowledge of SAP security concepts and user administration
• Experience with high-availability setup and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• SAP certifications in BASIS nice to have
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
