Job summary

ING IT Operations is seeking a mid-level IT Operations Engineer to manage Linux/Windows environments, support virtualization, containers, and cloud platforms, and drive automation for reliability. You’ll collaborate with global teams to ensure secure, available, and resilient systems, contribute to incident response, and implement continuous improvements across enterprise-scale platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong experience managing Linux and Windows systems.
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Exposure to cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, Go, or similar technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Git.
• Configuration management experience using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms including Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK.
• Experience in incident and problem management.

Job description

As a mid-level IT Operations Engineer, you will manage infrastructure and operating environments, respond to incidents, and improve system reliability through automation and continuous improvement.

You’ll work across enterprise-scale platforms and collaborate with global teams to ensure our systems remain secure, available, and resilient.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing Linux and Windows environments
• Supporting virtualized and containerized platforms
• Monitoring system performance and resolving incidents
• Automating operational tasks and improving efficiency
• Enhancing system reliability, availability, and scalability
• Supporting IT risk controls, audit evidence collection, and remediation activities
• Partnering with engineering, security, and architecture teams to strengthen operational processes

Required Skills

Core Technical Skills

Essential Requirement

• Experience supporting IT risk controls, audit activities, compliance requirements, or remediation tracking

Nice to Have

• Database knowledge (SQL)
• Experience with disaster recovery and high-availability environments
