The IT Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and continuous improvement of the organization’s information technology infrastructure, systems, and services. This role combines technical expertise, operational leadership, cybersecurity oversight, and strategic technology planning to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the company’s IT environment.
The IT Manager must possess hands on technical capability across infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, cloud services, and enterprise applications, while also leading IT staff and supporting business units with technology solutions that enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
Requirements
1. IT Infrastructure and Systems Management
- Oversee the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage systems, endpoints, and enterprise applications.
- Ensure high availability and performance of critical systems including:
- Windows and Linux servers
- Active Directory and identity management systems
- Virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper V
- Cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Monitor system performance using infrastructure monitoring tools and proactively identify potential capacity, performance, or security issues.
- Perform hands on troubleshooting of system failures, network outages, server performance issues, and application disruptions.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity systems to ensure data availability and operational resilience.
2. Network Architecture and Administration
- Manage the design, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure.
- Technical responsibilities include hands on knowledge in:
- TCP IP networking architecture
- VLAN configuration and network segmentation
- Firewall configuration and security policies
- VPN setup and remote access management
- Network performance monitoring and packet analysis
- Wireless network deployment and security
- Ensure secure connectivity across offices, remote teams, cloud systems, and external partners.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues affecting system connectivity and performance.
3. Cybersecurity and Data Protection
- Lead the organization’s cybersecurity posture by implementing layered security architecture.
- Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining:
- Endpoint protection and antivirus systems
- Network firewalls and intrusion detection systems
- Identity access management and multi factor authentication
- Data encryption protocols for data at rest and in transit
- Security monitoring and threat detection systems
- Patch management and vulnerability assessment programs
- Conduct periodic security audits, penetration testing coordination, and risk assessments.
- Develop incident response procedures and lead investigations of potential cybersecurity threats or breaches.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal information security policies.
4. Cloud Systems and Digital Platforms
- Manage the deployment and administration of cloud-based systems including infrastructure services and software platforms.
- Technical responsibilities include experience in:
- Cloud server provisioning and management
- Identity and access configuration in cloud platforms
- Cloud storage management and backup architecture
- SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, CRM systems, or ERP platforms
- Ensure secure integration between cloud services and on premise infrastructure.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization and cost management.
5. IT Team Leadership and Capability Development
- Lead and supervise the IT support team including system administrators, network engineers, and technical support staff.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to ensure the team maintains strong hands on capability across infrastructure, security, and system administration.
- Assign operational responsibilities and monitor performance metrics.
- Develop training programs to keep the IT team updated with evolving technologies, cybersecurity threats, and system administration practices.
- Promote a culture of proactive problem solving and continuous improvement.
6. Technology Strategy and IT Project Management
- Develop and implement the organization’s IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies that may improve operational efficiency, cybersecurity, or system scalability.
- Lead IT initiatives such as:
- Network redesign or expansion
- Software implementation or system migration
- Cloud migration initiatives
- Cybersecurity improvements
- Manage project timelines, budgets, system testing, deployment, and post implementation support.
- Collaborate with department leaders to understand operational requirements and translate them into technology solutions.
7. Technical Support and Service Delivery
- Ensure the delivery of reliable and responsive technical support services to employees and operational teams.
- Oversee help desk operations including ticketing systems, service level agreements, and resolution timelines.
- Provide escalation support for complex technical issues involving infrastructure, applications, or network connectivity.
- Implement service improvement processes to reduce recurring technical problems and improve user experience.
8. IT Governance, Documentation, and Policy Development
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent and secure technology operations.
- System configuration documentation

- Ensure documentation is regularly updated and accessible for operational continuity.
9. IT Budget Planning and Vendor Management
- Prepare and manage the annual IT budget including infrastructure investments, software licensing, cloud services, and vendor contracts.
- Evaluate and negotiate with technology vendors, service providers, and managed service partners.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure technology solutions meet operational and security requirements.
- Conduct cost benefit analysis when recommending new technology investments.
10. Continuous Technology Improvement
- Regularly evaluate the performance, scalability, and security of the IT environment.
- Identify opportunities to modernize infrastructure, automate processes, and improve digital workflows.
- Promote best practices in IT governance, cybersecurity awareness, and technology utilization across the organization.
