Job summary

Vercel, the agentic infrastructure company, is seeking an IT Systems Engineer in San Francisco to improve automation, integrations, and IT workflows. You will build scripts and reduce tool sprawl while partnering with Security, Compliance, and People Operations.

This hands-on role requires scripting expertise (Bash, Python), API know-how, and experience with apps like Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, MDM, and ITSM.

Qualifications

• Fluent in scripting (Bash, Python) and APIs.
• Experience designing scalable IT systems and workflows.
• Able to leverage AI tools to optimize IT processes.
• Comfortable collaborating with Security, Compliance, and People Ops.
• Hands-on, proactive, and willing to implement lasting solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation workflows across core IT systems
• Lead tool consolidation and SaaS lifecycle improvements
• Own and improve vendor management processes including procurement, renewals, intake, and documentation
• Partner with Security, Compliance, and People Operations on cross-functional workflow optimization
• Build and maintain integrations between systems such as Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, MDM, and ITSM
• Contribute to and help enforce IT documentation standards
• Identify and address tech debt especially in high-friction workflows
• Help shift IT from reactive support to a proactive, strategic partner
