Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job (preferably Engineering or Applied Sciences).
• Training: Four (4) hours of relevant training.
• Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Studies the subject matter of the patent application.
• Conducts formality examination per IP Code, IRR, and guidelines.
• Evaluates eligibility of subject matter (Sec. 22, RA 8293).
• Performs preliminary patent search and classification of applications.
• Evaluates prior art documents (Sec. 24, RA 8293).
• Assesses disclosure sufficiency and novelty (Secs. 23, 26, 27).
• Prepares search/examination reports, notices, and correspondence.
• Assesses applicant arguments and proposed amendments.
• Recommends grants or rejections based on patentability.
