Responsibilities
- Conduct patentability and invalidity assessments of inventions by performing comprehensive prior art searches using patent databases, technical manuals, journals, and other reliable sources.
- Develop and refine search strategies, keywords, and classification queries aligned with evolving business and technical priorities.
- Monitor and track newly published and granted patents, identifying those relevant to business interests and potential risks or opportunities.
- Prepare clear and concise patent summaries, abstracts, and reports, and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders (e.g., Legal, R&D, and business teams).
- Perform in-depth patent and intellectual property analysis within the HVAC‑related industry, consumer products and related industries.
- Support engineering and R&D teams in identifying patentable innovations, drafting invention disclosures, and preparing technical documentation for patent filings.
- Conduct patent landscape analysis, technology mapping, and competitive intelligence to guide strategic decision‑making.
- Carry out freedom‑to‑operate (FTO) and patent watch activities to help mitigate infringement risks and ensure IP compliance.
- Analyze global patent filing trends to anticipate competitor activity and emerging market directions.
- Maintain organized documentation and ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of IP‑related reports and records.
- Work Shift: 9:00AM to 6:00PM Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid work setup: on‑site three times per week.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, or Environmental/Health/Safety) or a related field.
- Preferably with experience or knowledge in technical writing and patent searching.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in R&D, quality control, product development, design engineering, or process engineering.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in technical documentation or publication writing is an advantage.
- Applicants must be Filipino citizens.
