Job summary

RecruitNest Consulting is seeking an IP Medical Coder IV to join our client’s healthcare team in a hybrid setup (2-3x onsite/week) in the Philippines. You will assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient records, review documentation, and ensure coding accuracy in line with industry standards.

The role requires 2+ years in inpatient coding, AHIMA or AAPC certification, and familiarity with EMR systems like Epic or Cerner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of inpatient medical coding experience.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC, CIC, or CCS) required.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, Cerner, 3M Encoder).
• Ability to review inpatient records and ensure coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient cases including low-acuity, OB/NB, acute psychiatric, and one-day stay admissions.
• Assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Review medical records for complete and accurate coding.
• Apply modifiers and resolve coding edits.
• Abstract clinical information from patient records.
• Respond to coding audits and update records per findings.
• Ensure compliance with AHIMA, AAPC, and industry standards.
