Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in integration, middleware or backend engineering.
• Hands-on programming in Java and/or Go.

• Familiar with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.

Senior Integration Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Integration Specialist to design, develop and support scalable integration solutions across enterprise systems and digital platforms.

This role will focus on building reliable APIs, microservices and event-driven integrations, while working with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes / OpenShift. You will work closely with Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Security and Architecture teams to ensure integration services are scalable, observable, secure and production-ready.

The ideal candidate will have strong development experience in Java and/or Go, combined with solid exposure to middleware, APIs, distributed systems and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain integration services using Java and/or Go.

• Build and deploy containerised applications on Kubernetes / OpenShift (OCP) environments.

• Develop and support REST APIs, microservices and event-driven integration solutions.

• Integrate internal applications with enterprise platforms, partners and third-party systems.

• Ensure solutions meet requirements for:

  • Performance

  • Scalability

  • Resilience

  • Security

  • Availability

• Support production integration services and troubleshoot system or interface issues.

• Implement observability and monitoring using tools such as:

  • Splunk

  • Prometheus

  • Grafana

  • Other logging, metrics and tracing platforms

• Work closely with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and environment readiness.

• Apply security best practices across APIs, integrations and data exchange.

• Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to reusable integration patterns and standards.

• Improve system reliability, operational processes and integration best practices.

• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Integration, Middleware, Backend Engineering or a related technical role.

• Strong hands-on programming experience in Java and/or Go (Golang).

• Strong experience with REST APIs, microservices and integration architecture.

• Hands-on experience deploying applications on Kubernetes and/or OpenShift (OCP).

• Experience with event‑driven architecture, messaging systems or distributed systems.

• Familiarity with integration patterns and enterprise middleware concepts.

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Prometheus or Grafana.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and automation tools.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills within production environments.

• Experience working with cloud‑native or distributed systems.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and business teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within a large‑scale enterprise or telecommunications environment.

• Exposure to high‑volume, mission‑critical systems.

• Experience working closely with DevOps / SRE teams.

• Knowledge of API security, authentication and enterprise integration standards.

• Experience mentoring junior engineers or contributing to technical standards.
