Job summary

Ventra Health is seeking an Intake Exceptions Specialist to accurately enter and maintain insurance and patient demographic information at the encounter level, with system-level responsibilities for qualified candidates.

In this role you will review demographics, assign insurance plans, verify data accuracy, and perform cross-walking and research to resolve issues, supporting revenue cycle workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• At least six months of experience with insurance/professional medical billing preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies.
• Strong knowledge of front-end processes for each facility.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Smartsheet, Excel, and database software.

Responsibilities

• Reviews demographics pulled from hospital systems and assigns insurance plans to each patient chart.
• Enters all patient information accurately prior to chart coding.
• Corrects errors based on insurance billing requirements.
• Adds and maintains insurance information within the system through research.
• Identifies ‘Red Flag’ issues and provides research to deliver solutions.
• Performs internet research to verify insurance legitimacy.
• Reviews volumes of data to determine necessary insurance crosswalks.
• Performs crosswalking to match insurance data with Ventra datasets.
