Assess and determine the acceptability of insurance risks based on underwriting guidelines and company policies.
Approve, modify, or decline insurance applications within assigned underwriting authority.
Determine appropriate coverage, policy terms, limits, exclusions, deductibles, and premium rates.
Review policy renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend measures to minimize potential losses.
Coordinate with brokers, agents, clients, and internal departments to obtain additional information and clarify underwriting requirements.
Monitor underwriting portfolio performance and identify trends affecting profitability and risk exposure.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation in the company's systems.
Support product development by providing market insights and underwriting recommendations.
Collaborate with Claims, Sales, Risk Management, and Compliance teams to ensure effective policy administration.
Participate in continuous process improvements to enhance underwriting efficiency and service quality.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in insurance underwriting or a related insurance function.
Knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting practices, risk assessment, and policy administration.
Familiarity with insurance regulations and industry standards.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and insurance underwriting systems.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to make sound decisions while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
