Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within insurance, financial services, public accounting, or related industry.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Understanding of insurance accounting concepts, including premiums, commissions, claims, reserves, reinsurance, and policy-related transactions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Experience using accounting, ERP, policy administration, or financial reporting systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Record, review, and maintain accurate general ledger transactions.
• Prepare journal entries, analyses, trial balances, and schedules for reporting.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and reporting packages.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions.
• Process and reconcile insurance-related transactions like premiums and claims.
• Coordinate with underwriting, claims, and finance to resolve differences and ensure accurate treatment.
• Maintain documentation for insurance accounting entries and reconciliations.
• Support audits by preparing schedules and responses to information requests.
