Job summary

Ostrea Mineral Laboratory Inc. in the Philippines seeks a Chemist or Chemical Technician who is detail-oriented and organized to join the laboratory team.

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science plus a board certificate or valid professional ID is required. You will perform analytical testing on water-related parameters, maintain QC records, ensure GLP compliance, and support sample handling, data logging, and safe chemical storage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science field required.
• RC/CT with board certificate and valid IDs required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Willing to be assigned to different water parameters.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask.
• Knowledge of reagents' SDS and GLP compliance.
• Knowledge of analytical quality control/assurance.
• Willing to work extended hours, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Receive samples from the Sample custodian and verify labels, lab numbers, and parameters per RAN.
• Perform testing/analyses on assigned parameters following test procedures.
• Prepare reagent solutions and standards used for analyses.
• Compute results and transfer to the RAN form.
• Record all raw data in the logbook.
• Update monitoring of environmental conditions, QC charts, and checklists.
• Ensure chemicals and supplies are available; coordinate with Section Head to procure materials.
• Ensure samples meet holding times of analysis.
• Ensure analyses meet turn-around-time.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Section Head or Laboratory Head.
• Handle storage and disposal of hazardous waste generated after analysis.
• Ensure GLP, housekeeping and safety in the laboratory.
• Ensure equipment calibration and maintenance of facilities.
