The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inpatient coding, a solid understanding of medical terminology and disease processes, and the ability to ensure accurate and compliant coding for inpatient records based on official coding guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of a medical allied course (e.g., Nursing, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, etc.)
• Minimum of 2 years of full-time inpatient coding experience
• OR
• Minimum of 1 year and 6 months of inpatient coding experience plus 6 months of formal coding training

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Inpatient coding guidelines
  • ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems
  • DRG assignment methodologies
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in code assignment.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software tools is an advantage.
• Must hold a valid medical coding license/certification (CCS/CIC)
