Job summary

Unilever is seeking an Innovations (SUIT) Engineer in the Philippines to drive change management for new innovations, material transitions, and recipe changes. You will lead project networks, mitigate risks, and ensure on-time launches, while applying Focused Improvement, Quality, and EEM pillars with an end-to-end view on Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Productivity, Waste, and Logistics.

Qualifications

• Graduate in engineering with manufacturing focus.
• Knowledge of FMCG process technology and equipment.
• Experience in quality in innovation incl. statistical analysis and process control.
• Ability to prepare machine/process specifications and manage project networks.
• Proficient in AutoCAD/SolidWorks for equipment layouts.
• Familiar with TPM, WCM, Six Sigma and UMS concepts.
• Willing to work in General Trias Cavite.

Responsibilities

• Lead change management for projects, ensuring deployment readiness and timely launches.
• Support CAPEX drafting and monitor CAPEX progress for SU projects.
• Drive Innovation Projects with EEM/EPM pillars, document risk assessments, and ensure BOM alignment.
• Ensure compliance to COBP/CR&R, GMP, and GMPK rules in the plant.
• Participate in Focused Improvement actions and validate results with real-time observations.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Innovations (SUIT) Engineer will lead the change management of projects, ensuring that the factory is geared up for deployment changes which include new innovations, material transitions, new technology, and recipe changes with an agreed time plan.

S/he will be applying Focused Improvement, Quality, and EEM pillar methods for a proper change management which considers end to end impact on Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Productivity, Waste, Customer Service and Logistics. With earned expertise in processing and/or packing, s/he will also lead project networks, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure products / new technology are launched on time.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Change Management

• Lead and ensure execution of the VIP programs category
• Ensure trials is executed based on the trial plan and provide trial report for SU-led projects
• Prepare and monitor project networks for SU-led projects

CAPEX Management

• Support in drafting CAPEX for SU related projects
• Monitors CAPEX progress status

Innovation Projects

• Supports early equipment management (EEM) and early product management (EPM) pillar to ensure vertical start-up of innovations and projects.
• Ensure trial is executed based on the trial plan
• Document keeping for all project-related document e.g. technical risk assessment, batch sheets
• Ensure alignment of BOM and batch sheets/ visual guides.

Admin

• Compliance to company COBP, CR&R
• Compliance to the GMP and GHK rules of the plant

Focused Improvement

• Participates in Focused Improvement activities
• Executes agreed Focused Improvement actions
• Raises improvement activities (OFI) and OPL
• Validates results and effectiveness of Focused Improvement activities via real time observations

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Graduate of any engineering course (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical), or any technical course related to manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of process and technology/equipment associated with an FMCG company.
• Knowledge and experience in Quality in innovation for manufacturing including statistical analysis and process control, supplier assessment and capabilities, risk assessment for raw materials/ packing materials/ formulations and validation of in-house and co-making operations.
• Able to prepare machine/process stream specifications and machinery project management networks.
• Good understanding of the materials conversion processes.
• Has specific skills in AUTOCAD/Solid works - which can help on the equipment re-layouts and technical design discussions.
• Detailed process person who has at least basic know how on TPM, WCM, Six sigma and UMS
• Amenable to work in General Trias, Cavite
