Infrastructure Test Engineer
As a member of the Enterprise Product & Platform Engineering team, you will help transform the delivery of infrastructure to our business clients. You will partner with Engineering Domains, Business Aligned Service Delivery, DevSecOps Domain and our operational support teams to ensure high‑quality, commercially attractive, and timely solutions that support our business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Understanding the infrastructure from design documents and identifying the testing scope for integration into orchestration platforms such as Jenkins CI/CD pipelines or Ansible.
- Supporting overall QA activities, including development of Test Approach, Test Cases, and manual test execution as needed.
- Learning and working in network concepts and automating tests against configuration, firewall rule changes, proxies and load balancers.
- Adopting DevOps culture and automated infrastructure provisioning processes.
- Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Developing, maintaining and executing automations such as Chef/Ansible, Python/Ruby/Shell Scripts and Jenkins CI/CD Groovy scripts.
- Performing manual testing of UI or APIs or any application that requires manual testing.
- Contributing the architectural evolution of Infrastructure Test Automation Frameworks and related capabilities as part of an Agile team.
- Actively participating in all phases of the project lifecycle, from definition to delivery, and lending subject‑matter expertise to projects.
- Designing and developing test cases using traditional test design techniques based on Stories/Epics or functional requirements.
- Collaborating closely with application development and other technical teams to understand how product changes affect maintenance of test scripts.
- Working with business resources to understand the purpose and concept behind software features.
- Supporting performance, resiliency, and recovery validation activities for applications and platforms, including availability, failover, scalability, and recovery testing across cloud, container, and hybrid environments.
- Participating in resiliency test planning and execution by supporting risk‑based test scenarios, recovery validation, observability‑driven analysis, and RTO/RPO verification activities.
- Collaborating with engineering and operations teams to analyze performance and resiliency test results, document findings, and provide traceable evidence for governance, audit, and operational readiness reviews.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of IT experience with proven expertise in Testing, DevOps, Platform Operations, or equivalent roles.
- Basic automation scripting knowledge using Chef/Ansible, Python/Ruby/Shell Scripts.
- Knowledge of basic network concepts such as network configuration, firewall rules, proxies, and load balancers.
- Experience working with Linux or other UNIX‑flavored operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of AWS cloud technology and services.
- Basic understanding of defect tracking in JIRA.
- Willingness to learn resiliency engineering concepts, including high‑availability, disaster recovery, failover validation, RTO/RPO objectives, and observability principles.
- Willingness to learn resilience and chaos testing approaches across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Willingness to learn resilience and chaos engineering tools such as Gremlin, stress‑ng, AWS Fault Injection Service (AWS FIS), Azure Chaos Studio, or similar platforms is a plus.
