Job description

Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, has entered into an agreement to acquire a large, multi-national sensor business with global revenues in excess of $250 million per year, and is looking for an experienced and talented EDA Engineer.

The Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining EDA tools and flows for Syntiant’s ASIC teams as well as managing and upgrading the compute infrastructure.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, performing upgrades and downgrades, troubleshooting, of EDA software, pdk, workload management software, etc.
  • Evaluate performance, monitor workloads, and analyze results to ensure optimal operations.
  • Supporting EDA (Electronic Design Automation) environment (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, Pads etc.) Example: license server management and monitoring, engineering database management and mirroring, user and project environment creation and management, setup tool flows for tools from multiple vendors, IP repository management.
  • Manage on-premises as well as cloud platform for EDA tool usage and IP repository.
  • Support internal and external EDA users.
  • Develop a collaborative EDA ecosystem across the company that covers not only licenses but sharing of tool expertise and experiences.
  • Develop, Maintain and Migrate IP repositories and Version Control Systems.
  • Develop and improve upon operational procedures and standards.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience with a variety of EDA flows from a variety of vendors. Experience spanning analog and digital design and IP development, usage, and maintenance.
  • Experience using and developing flows for tools from Ansys, Cadence, Keysight, Siemens, and Synopsys tools (not all five required but experience across vendors desired).
  • Experience with deployment and use of EDA tools on on-premises compute as well as commercial cloud platforms.
  • Experience with IP module maintenance and usage.
  • Experience with Repository and Version Control Systems (Example, Git, SOS).
  • Experience with management and support of users’ needs in a semiconductor company environment.
  • Inter-personal and communication skills: Capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a supplier liaison, making presentations to customers, clients, and professional peers.
