Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and people-centric Industrial Engineer (IE) to drive efficiency, team synergy, and workforce capability at our mobile phone final assembly and packaging facility.
our operations are highly labor-intensive and process-driven, your primary focus will not just be on machinery, but on the human element—evaluating operators, balancing assembly lines, identifying capability gaps, and designing strategies to unlock our team's maximum performance.
- ● Workforce Evaluation & Team Synergy: Regularly observe, evaluate, and analyze operator dexterity, focus, and teamwork on the live assembly and packaging lines. Identify behavioral or technical gaps that limit maximum output.
- ● Line Balancing & Motion Studies: Conduct time-and-motion studies (stopwatch tracking, micro-motion analysis) to eliminate waste (MUDA). Rebalance assembly steps (e.g., housing assembly, screen attachment, battery placement, final boxing) to ensure a perfectly smooth, bottleneck‑free flow.
- ● Capability Mapping & Skill Matrices: Develop, maintain, and update an Operator Skill Matrix to track competencies across the floor. Partner with HR and Production Supervisors to identify where cross‑training is required to eliminate single‑point‑of‑failure vulnerabilities.
- ● Ergonomics & Workstation Design: Optimize the physical layout of workstations to minimize operator fatigue, reduce unnecessary reaching or lifting, and ensure standard components (SKD kits, accessories, labels) are positioned for peak efficiency.
- ● Continuous Improvement (Lean/Kaizen): Drive a culture of continuous improvement. Design and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) alongside Quality and Production teams to ensure optimized methods are standardized.
- ● Performance Reporting: Provide objective, data‑driven capability and efficiency reports directly to the Plant Manager, offering clear root‑cause analyses on why lines are missing or hitting targets.
Job Qualifications
- ● Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field. Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or Ergonomics/Human Factors is a strong advantage.
- ● Experience:
- ○ Minimum of 2–4 years of active experience as an Industrial Engineer or Lean Engineer on a high‑volume manufacturing floor.
- ○ Direct experience in electronics assembly, mobile devices, hardware final assembly, or high‑velocity packaging lines is highly preferred.
- ○ Proven experience in successfully conducting time studies, line balancing, and line restructuring.
- ● Technical Skills:
- ○ Proficiency in time‑study methodologies, line balancing software, or advanced Excel for capacity modeling.
- ○ Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Poka‑Yoke).
- ○ Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) floor protocols and safe battery handling guidelines is a plus.
- ● Soft Skills (Crucial for this role):
- ○ Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build trust with factory operators and floor supervisors. You must be someone who coaches and supports teams, rather than just policing them.
- ○ Objective Mindset: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to stand firm on data‑driven conclusions.
- ○ Excellent communication skills to translate complex data into clear training steps for HR and operations teams.
