Job summary

S&P Global Dow Jones Indices seeks a seasoned data researcher to support corporate actions and dividends input into proprietary databases, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

You will monitor global market announcements, verify entries with evidence, and collaborate with US and APAC teams to maintain high data quality. In-office presence is required at least two days weekly.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in financial data research, corporate actions processing, or index operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Python, SQL, and/or VBA, with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Final-stage interview typically in-person at nearest S&P Global office before offer.

About The Role

The Team:

The candidate will be part of the Universe Management (UM) team, which is responsible for the data supporting the maintenance and calculation of S&P Dow Jones Indices. This global and collaborative team is committed to maintaining the integrity and quality of our financial indices, with every team member encouraged to contribute to initiatives that improve business areas and processes.

Responsibilities And Impact

• Research and verify corporate actions and dividends, accurately inputting them into proprietary databases, thereby contributing directly to the integrity and quality of our global financial indices and supporting critical financial infrastructure.
• Proactively monitor multiple news sources for new corporate action announcements, ensuring data quality and adherence to strict deadlines across diverse global markets.
• Ensure all entries are meticulously verified and supporting evidence is stored, providing guidance and clarification to support the team in delivering quality work and resolving varied, non-routine issues that may arise.
• Provide operational support for US continuous trading and APAC extended trading hours, including backup functions, demonstrating adaptability in dynamic environments and collaborating effectively with global teams for seamless handovers.
• Proactively communicate major issues, efficiently answer client queries on corporate actions, and coordinate with global teams, fostering strong customer focus and effective cross-regional collaboration to ensure smooth operations.
• All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

What We’re Looking For

Basic Required Qualifications:

• An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3+ years of experience in financial data research, corporate actions processing, or index operations, demonstrating a foundational understanding of global financial markets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with knowledge of Python (in particular), SQL, and/or VBA, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills.
• We require all external candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to actively listen and understand other perspectives, collaborate effectively towards team goals, and prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency, focusing on high-priority/high-impact tasks.
• Strong adaptability in using previous experience to identify appropriate courses of action and improve existing approaches, coupled with creativity to bring new ideas to the forefront in alignment with team goals.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in interpreting and clarifying technical information to aid understanding within the team and with stakeholders.
• Additional language skills (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean) would be considered an advantage.
