Job summary

MSCI Inc. is seeking an Associate in the Index Input Data (IID) team to deliver, validate, and maintain index input data for MSCI’s equity indexes, risk models, and ESG ratings.

The role partners with global teams to improve data quality, automate processes, and apply AI within governance standards. The position requires 4+ years in financial services or data operations, strong data skills, and the ability to work across time zones.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4+ years in financial services, capital markets, or data operations.
• Comfortable using AI-enabled tools to support analysis, research, and process efficiency.
• Proficiency in Excel with large data sets.
• Foundational knowledge of Python, SQL, and Power BI.
• Strong understanding of global equity markets, corporate actions, float methodologies, and ESG factors.
• Experience leading transformation programs involving automation or new data products.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment with global time zone flexibility.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end processes for acquisition, validation, onboarding, and maintenance of index input data (ESG, fundamental data, and 3rd party vendor data).
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of index input data for rebalancing, screening, and index calculation.
• Implement data quality frameworks including anomaly detection, risk scoring, and proactive controls.
• Drive automation, workflow optimization, and adoption of Python, SQL, Power BI, AI/ML solutions.
• Leverage AI tools to support anomaly detection and monitoring efficiency.
• Identify and support AI and automation opportunities to improve processes.
