Job summary

STMicroelectronics in the Philippines is seeking a Quality Inspector to join the semiconductor materials group and support incoming inspection activities. You will verify materials, measure parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges and microscopes, and prepare reports in accordance with drawings and specs.

The role requires a technical diploma or two years of college, at least two years in quality inspection, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical Diploma or 2 years of college in Electronics or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years in quality inspection or manufacturing in semiconductor/electronics.
  • Experience in incoming inspection of semiconductor materials is an advantage.
  • Familiar with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes).
  • Basic knowledge of statistical sampling and inspection methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspection of raw materials, wafers, components, and packaging materials using inspection tools.
  • Verify material compliance against engineering drawings, specifications, and sampling plans.
  • Prepare and submit daily inspection reports and non-conformance records.
  • Escalate material quality issues to QA for disposition.
  • Ensure proper identification, segregation, and control of non-conforming materials.
  • Perform basic equipment verification and maintenance checks on measurement equipment.
  • Support measurement system analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with quality procedures, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in training, certification programs, and process improvement activities.

YOUR ROLE

You take part in creating the best new hire experience in the project to completely renew our talent acquisition and onboarding process. You also help us with finding the best vendors for recruitment, and managing the a to z collaboration with them.

  • Perform incoming inspection of raw materials, wafers, components, and packaging materials using microscopes, measuring instruments, and other inspection equipment in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Verify material compliance against engineering drawings, specifications, sampling plans, and quality standards.
  • Prepare and submit daily inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and other required quality documentation.
  • Escalate material quality issues, defects, and abnormal findings to the Supplier Quality Engineer or Senior Lead QA for timely disposition.
  • Ensure proper identification, segregation, and control of non-conforming materials.
  • Perform basic equipment verification, maintenance checks, and troubleshooting to ensure measurement equipment reliability.
  • Support measurement system analysis, correlation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with established quality procedures, safety requirements, and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in training, certification programs, and process improvement activities to continuously enhance inspection effectiveness and competency.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
  • Vocational/Technical Diploma or at least two (2) years of college education, preferably in Electronics, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related fields.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or a related function within a semiconductor or electronics environment.
  • Experience in incoming inspection of semiconductor materials is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, and other inspection equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical sampling and inspection methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
