Education

B.Tech or M.Tech Degree in Food Technology or any other relevant discipline.

Experience

A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in product development within the beverage sector (including Protein Beverages and Specialized Nutritional Beverages such as RTD and DBB) or a comparable position in the food manufacturing or food ingredients industry is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead beverage projects focused on developing new solutions and modifying existing products, recipes, and processes to meet customer needs, while also expanding IFF’s solution and concept portfolio for future business opportunities.
• Deliver prompt technical support and expertise in the use of textural and stabilizing ingredients, including hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, enzymes, proteins, and other functional ingredients in beverage applications.
• This support is provided to both internal and external customers, with prioritization based on customer status and the business impact of projects.
• Specifically, this includes:
• Providing professional and timely responses within agreed-upon timeframes.
• Producing accurate and detailed technical project documentation and reports.
• Implementing cost-effective strategies and solutions for technical support projects.
• Conducting laboratory trials on various beverage product formulations as needed.
• Make sure that all activities align with IFF policies, business strategies, and Global Innovation Rules, while also ensuring the safe, hygienic, and efficient operation of the Beverage laboratory and facilities daily.
• Consistently update and maintain technical self-notes in the appropriate IFF databases that the company may create and implement over time.
• Demonstrate a commitment to all company policies, rules, regulations, and IFF’s quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in and contribute to relevant knowledge-sharing meetings, as well as various local and regional conferences, trade exhibitions, and business meetings as needed.
• Provide assistance and support to the line manager in project management, the development of Technical Service Requests, and lab operations.
• Share and present knowledge of IFF products and application technologies to both internal and external customers.
• Assist in troubleshooting design formulation and processing issues.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
• Execute assigned technical projects with minimal supervision, along with any additional tasks or projects delegated by the Application Leader.

Required Skills

• Extensive knowledge of proteins and hydrocolloids.
• Solid understanding of plant-based and milk-fermented beverages, dry blended drinks, and the nutritional benefits of protein beverages, as well as expertise in agglomeration processes.
• Familiarity with beverage raw materials, processing methods, and the regulations that govern their use in the food and beverage industry.
• In-depth knowledge of beverage applications, formulation, manufacturing processes, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong project management and experimental design capabilities.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, in addition to experience with application-related IT systems.
