Job summary

Anonymous is seeking an experienced Hydrologist to perform hydrological assessments in support of hydro feasibility and design. The role focuses on streamflow analysis, flood estimation, and tropical catchment studies.

Responsibilities include analyzing historical data, developing flow series, flood frequency analysis, and preparing technical reports. Collaboration with engineers and geologists is expected to ensure robust hydrological inputs for hydropower projects in tropical environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant hydrology experience.
• Strong knowledge of hydrological analysis, statistical methods, and flood assessment.
• Experience supporting hydropower feasibility and design studies.
• Demonstrated experience in streamflow analysis and flood estimation.
• Experience working with tropical catchments and data limitations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological assessments for hydropower projects.
• Analyze historical streamflow data and develop flow series.
• Undertake flow-duration curves and water-availability assessments.
• Conduct flood-frequency analysis and estimate design floods.
• Assess rainfall, runoff, catchment characteristics, and hydrological variability.
• Evaluate hydrological risks for hydropower scheme design.
• Develop hydrological inputs for hydraulic and engineering studies.
• Assess hydrology of tropical catchments, including data limitations and uncertainty.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with engineers, geologists, and other specialists.
