Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Vice President Operations - Collateral & Risk Manila (Securities Services) in Quezon City. The role oversees 30 FTEs across KL and Manila, with a governance-driven, enterprise-wide operating model in a hybrid work setting.

You'll manage senior stakeholders, drive risk and controls, and lead regional initiatives on collateral and cross-asset activities, while aligning with HSBC’s global risk framework.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the Markets and Collateral management business.
• Good cross asset class understanding especially Interest Rate, Equity & Credit Derivatives, FX, Repos, SBL, structured products, etc.
• Knowledge of ISDA Credit Support documents.
• Sound understanding of collateral assets: cash, bonds, equity, letters of credit, etc.
• Aware of industry initiatives within the Collateral space (Margin Rules, Margin Booking and Allocation, CCPs, Basel, EMIR, Dodd-Frank).
• Experienced operations professional with offshore operations exposure; focus on Collateral processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth running of the Collateral Securities Services teams in Kuala Lumpur and Manila across both locations.
• Build a governance model around KL and Manila teams ensuring work distribution and monitoring.
• Develop an end-state operating model to derive efficiency and better client experience.
• Perform risk and control assessments on breaks and create resolution strategies.
• Draw a strategic framework and road map to monitor output and centralize reconciliations.
• Escalation point to resolve issues promptly and support regional leadership initiatives.
• Contribute to Regional MANCOMs and drive region-wide initiatives on risk, people, and policies.
