Job summary

Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement is seeking an Assistant Accounts Manager in the Philippines. The role focuses on controlling the accounting operations for SMC, ensuring compliance with local tax and accounting legislation, and overseeing ledger processes in line with company policies.

The successful candidate will handle vessel-related accounts, cash flow forecasting, and coordination with departments for timely reporting and audits.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA preferred.
• 8–10 years of work experience, ideally in Ship Management.
• Fluency in English.
• Knowledge of maritime accounting legislation.
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare reports, statements and projections.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review ship-owner financial statements and ensure timely, compliant reporting.
• Review vessel cash flow and settle vessel-related accounts/payments promptly.
• Maintain ledgers and ensure reconciliation with general ledger.
• Monitor management accounting systems for cost information and performance.
• Forecast weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cash flow. Coordinate with other departments.
• Ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies; provide financial analysis to management.
• Coordinate tax and financial statements; ensure timely submission.
• Participate in audits and support corrective actions.
