Job summary

GHD is seeking an Analytics Engineer in the Philippines to join the IS Data & Analytics team. You will transform and model data, ensure data quality, and enable stakeholders with engineering best practices.

The role focuses on building data models and Power BI semantic layers across layered data architectures, using SQL, dbt, and Fabric or equivalent tools. Collaboration with data professionals is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI / data warehouse work; at least two full-cycle analytics projects.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modelling (star schemas, fact/dimension tables, slowly changing dimensions).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflow Gen2, notebooks) or similar tools (Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake) with dbt.
• Semantic models & DAX for Power BI (measures, relationships, RLS).
• Software engineering practices: Git version control, peer review, CI/CD, modular reusable code.
• Translate business needs into documented metrics/KPI definitions and data contracts for scalable analytics solutions.
• Clear written and spoken communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data models and Power BI semantic models across bronze, silver, gold layers using SQL (dbt) and notebooks.
• Write tests to check data quality and fix data problems.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts, and business analysts to transform data into actionable insights.
• Participate in code reviews and drive engineering standards and best practices.
• Optimize performance to support scalable, reliable data pipelines.
