Job summary

Jacobs Projects (Philippines), Inc. in Mandaluyong seeks an experienced HV/MV Engineer to design high- and medium-voltage electrical systems for industrial, infrastructure, utilities, and energy projects.

You will develop SLDs, layouts, substation arrangements, and protection schemes while performing comprehensive power system analyses. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integrity from FEED through construction, with responsibilities spanning equipment selection,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in electrical engineering design for simple cycle and/or combined cycle gas turbine generation projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, Philippine Electrical Codes and Philippine Distribution Code and other international codes and standards.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Experience in concept design, FEED up to detailed engineering design.
• Lead Engineer experience.
• Proficient in Revit or 2D AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop HV and MV electrical system designs for industrial, infrastructure, utilities, energy, and mission-critical facilities.
• Prepare and review SLDs, electrical layouts, substation arrangements, cable schedules, routing drawings, protection and control schematics, and earthing/lightning protection designs.
• Perform power system studies including load flow analyses, short-circuit calculations, protection coordination, arc flash assessments, harmonic analyses, and grounding studies.
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment datasheets, and engineering reports.
• Support equipment selection and procurement for transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and associated HV/MV equipment.
• Review vendor documentation and provide technical evaluations and recommendations.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, process, instrumentation, and control disciplines for integrated design delivery.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, value engineering workshops, and technical presentations.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline
• Relevant experience in electrical engineering design with at least 5 years of experience in the electrical engineering design of simple cycle and/or combined cycle gas turbine generation projects
• Knowledge and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE, Philippine Electrical Codes andPhilippine Distribution Code and other international codes and standards
• Strong communication and technical writing skills
• Experience in concept design, FEED up to detailed engineering design
• Lead Engineer experience
• Proficient in Revit or 2D AutoCAD

Other highly regarded qualifications include experience with:

• Working knowledge of US codes and standards
• Power system modeling and analysis proficiency using ETAP, SKM Power Tools or similar modeling software
• Protection and Control, SCADA or power system automation experience
