Job summary

Optum Philippines offers an internship program designed to provide real-world experience within a global healthcare services organization. Interns will report for internship based on the schedule in the contract and perform tasks outlined in the internship plan.

Applicants must have limited work experience, be officially enrolled in a Philippine higher education institution, and meet pre-internship requirements, including a medical certificate and parent/guardian consent.

• Enrolled in a Philippine higher education institution accredited by the CHED
• Enrolled in an internship subject and completed major subjects
• At least 18 years old at internship start
• Pass pre-internship requirements as specified in the internship plan
• Submit a Medical Certificate indicating good health and emotional fitness
• Notarized consent from parent/guardian
• Letter of endorsement from HEI/partner institution/university

Responsibilities

• Report for internship in OGS Philippines based on the schedule in the internship contract/agreement

• Maintain confidentiality of data and information
• Adhere to company rules and use of tools and equipment
• Submit an internship journal reflecting on plans and experiences

Primary Responsibilities

• Report for internship in OGS Philippines based on the schedule indicated in the internship contract and/or agreement
• Perform task and activities indicated in the internship plan
• Maintain confidentiality, when and where appropriate, during and after the internship period of all the data, business or trade secrets where such information is not within the public domain and is indicated or understood to be confidential
• Adhere to the existing rules and regulations of OGS Philippines, including the proper use of tools, instruments, machines, and equipment
• Submit a journal of internship as required by OGS Philippines reflecting on the approved internship plan, his or her experiences describing the internship activities, any problem/s encountered, and his or her reflections on the internship experience to the internship program coordinator
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives at its absolute discretion without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications

• Limited work experience
• Be officially enrolled in a legitimate Philippine higher education institution that is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education or relevant agency and has entered into a MOA with OGS Philippines
• Be enrolled in an internship subject and completed all major (professional) subjects
• Be at least be eighteen (18) years of age from the start of the internship period
• Pass pre-internship requirements as specified in the internship plan
• Submit a Medical Certificate indicating that he/she is in good health and is emotionally fit. The medical certificate shall be based on a physical and psychological examination conducted or certified by the Department of Health accredited clinics and hospitals. He/she must also submit other related medical examination requirements by OGS Philippines, if any
• Have a notarized written consent from his/her parent/guardian. No waiver is allowed
• Present a letter of endorsement from the HEI/partner institution/university
