Job summary

Melters Steel Corporation is seeking a diligent Housekeeper in Manila to maintain neat work areas, floors, and waste removal, while staying alert to potential hazards.

You will assist with restocking supplies, vacuuming, dusting, and room rearrangement after guest checkout. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and readiness for long shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Understand company policy on shifts, belongings, and privacy.
• Provide basic housekeeping such as restocking, vacuuming, dusting, and room rearrangement after checkout.
• Report found property and any property damage to supervisor.
• Work with a team of housekeepers on each shift.
• Clean, disinfect, and store equipment at end of shift.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff and guests.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Respond to housekeeping emergencies (spills, broken glass).
• Collect and remove trash and debris.

About the role

Housekeeping is not just cleanliness. It includes keeping work areas neat and orderly, maintaining halls and floors free of slip and trip hazards, and removing of waste materials (e.g., paper, cardboard) and other fire hazards from work areas. It also requires paying attention to important details such as the layout of the whole workplace, aisle marking, the adequacy of storage facilities, and maintenance. This requires attention to detail, physical strength and the stamina to work long shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the company's policy on work shifts, guest's possessions and privacy issues
• Provide basic housekeeping duties including restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting and rearranging the room after guests check out
• Report and return any properties found in the premises while rendering service
• Report cases of property damage in commercial spaces to supervisor
• Work with a team of housekeepers on each shift
• Clean, disinfect and store all equipment at the end of the shift
• Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests
• Monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies
• Respond to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glass
• Collect and remove trash and debris

About you

• College level, Vocational or High School graduate
• Previous experience in any housekeeping position
• Has a knack for managing unforeseen circumstances
• Ability to manage multiple tasks within given time frames
• Good planning and decision-making abilitiesPhysical agility aimed at performing difficult manual labor
• Physically agile with the ability to remain active for long periods of time
• Availability to work on weekends, and public holidays (Dayshift)
