Job summary

El Puerto Marina Beach Resort and Vacation Club is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team in Makati, Metro Manila. The role covers day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy for our resort and vacation club operations.

The position requires 2–3 years in accounting, knowledge of GAAP, and strong Excel skills. You will handle accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and budgeting support, within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and analyse spreadsheets.
• Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in numerical work.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of hospitality or resort accounting practices is preferred but not essential.
• Proficiency in Filipino and English languages is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Recording and processing financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Preparing and reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation in compliance with accounting standards.
• Identifying and investigating discrepancies or anomalies in financial data and resolving them promptly.
• Supporting the audit process by providing requested documentation and explanations.
• Processing payroll information and ensuring accuracy in employee compensation records.
• Assisting with budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Collaborating with other departments to gather financial information and clarify transaction details.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
