Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Typically 10+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-site IT environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, hospital, or other mission-critical environments is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT Infrastructure & Operations, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability of servers, storage, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Establish and manage IT service management, incident/problem/change management, and SLAs/KPIs.
  • Oversee network & connectivity across offices, hospitals, clinics, and locations.
  • Ensure cybersecurity, risk management, compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical systems.

Job description

The IT Operations Head is responsible for the overall management, availability, reliability, security, and performance of the organization's IT infrastructure and technology operations. The role ensures that critical IT services effectively support business and hospital operations, with minimal disruption to clinical, administrative, and corporate functions.

The position provides strategic and operational leadership across IT infrastructure, network and connectivity, cloud and data center operations, end-user computing, IT service management, cybersecurity operations, disaster recovery, and technical support.

The IT Operations Head will also drive continuous improvement, standardization, automation, and operational efficiency across the IT environment while ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. IT Infrastructure & Operations

  • Lead the day-to-day operations and availability of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, cloud environments, databases, endpoints, telecommunications, and related technology platforms.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of IT systems supporting critical business and hospital operations.
  • Establish and monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, availability, and service-level metrics.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, operating procedures, and technology lifecycle plans.
  • Ensure timely patching, upgrades, maintenance, and replacement of aging or obsolete infrastructure.
  • Oversee data center, cloud, backup, and infrastructure monitoring operations.

2. IT Service Management & Support

  • Establish a strong IT service management framework covering incident, problem, request, change, and service-level management.
  • Ensure timely resolution of IT incidents and service requests, particularly those affecting critical hospital and business operations.
  • Define and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and operational service metrics.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and preventive actions for recurring incidents and major service disruptions.
  • Continuously improve the employee and end-user IT experience through efficient support processes and technology solutions.

3. Network & Connectivity

  • Oversee the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, VPN, telecommunications, and related services.
  • Ensure reliable connectivity across corporate offices, hospitals, clinics, and other operating locations.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security.
  • Lead network improvement and expansion projects in support of new facilities, hospital expansions, and business requirements.
  • Manage relationships with telecommunications and network service providers.

4. Cybersecurity & IT Risk

  • Partner with Information Security and relevant stakeholders to ensure that IT operations comply with cybersecurity policies, standards, and controls.
  • Implement appropriate infrastructure security controls, access management, endpoint protection, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and monitoring.
  • Ensure operational compliance with data privacy, information security, and regulatory requirements applicable to healthcare organizations.
  • Participate in security incident response, investigation, remediation, and post-incident reviews.
  • Identify and mitigate technology and infrastructure risks through regular assessments and control improvements.

5. Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

  • Develop, maintain, and regularly test IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure appropriate backup, recovery, redundancy, and failover mechanisms are in place for critical systems.
  • Establish recovery objectives and ensure IT services can be restored within agreed Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).
  • Lead IT recovery activities during major system outages, infrastructure failures, or other technology-related disruptions.

6. IT Projects & Technology Transformation

  • Lead or support infrastructure and IT operations projects, including cloud migration, network modernization, data center transformation, system upgrades, hospital technology deployments, and automation initiatives.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into scalable and sustainable IT solutions.
  • Work closely with application, cybersecurity, data, and digital teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of technology solutions.
  • Drive automation and standardization to improve service quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure appropriate transition of new technology solutions into stable IT operations.

7. Vendor & Contract Management

  • Manage strategic technology vendors, managed service providers, telecommunications providers, and infrastructure partners.
  • Ensure vendors meet agreed SLAs, service standards, security requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Participate in vendor selection, technical evaluation, contract negotiations, and performance reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize IT contracts, service costs, and technology investments.

8. IT Governance, Budget & Compliance

  • Develop and manage the IT Operations budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with business priorities.
  • Monitor operating expenses, capital investments, vendor costs, and technology lifecycle requirements.
  • Establish and maintain IT operational policies, standards, procedures, and controls.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, audit readiness, and compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular management reports on IT performance, risks, incidents, projects, and operational priorities.

9. Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, develop, and motivate the IT Operations team, including infrastructure, network, service desk, technical support, and other relevant functions.
  • Establish clear performance objectives, operating metrics, and accountability across the team.
  • Build technical capabilities through coaching, knowledge sharing, training, and succession planning.
  • Foster a customer-focused, collaborative, and continuous-improvement culture.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, skills, and resource allocation to support business requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Typically 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with significant experience in IT infrastructure, IT operations, service management, or technology delivery.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity managing IT operations, infrastructure, or technical teams.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-site IT environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, hospital, or other mission-critical environments is an advantage.
