Job summary

Powertown seeks a Community Engagement Lead to foster and sustain relationships with municipal governments across multiple towns and cities. The role translates complex policy into clear, human-focused narratives to build trust and support Powertown’s deployments.

You will map opportunities in local governance, navigate approval processes, and work with public officials to align projects with community needs and resilience objectives, maintaining a strong local presence.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years in community engagement, government affairs, public policy, economic development, planning, or stakeholder relations.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to make technical or unfamiliar projects feel clear, grounded, and human.
• Experience navigating local government and approval processes, including permitting, zoning, public hearings, civic design, or community concerns.

That means going the extra mile to build trust within our communities, understanding where our local political opportunities lie, and helping shape the local narrative around Powertown. Functionally, you will build relationships with local governments across dozens of municipalities, creating a repeatable yet human-centric system that keeps Powertown closely connected with municipal decision makers at scale.

Must-have qualifications

• 2–6 years in community engagement, government affairs, public policy, economic development, planning, or stakeholder relations
