Job summary

Sideways 6 is seeking an Application Security Engineer in Manila, PH. You will secure software by coding and reviewing security changes directly in the codebase, not just monitoring dashboards. You will hunt for vulnerabilities, validate fixes, and ship secure libraries and templates to make secure development the easy default.

You will drive threat modelling, CI/CD security integration, and collaboration with engineers to raise security as an engineering practice across the team.

Qualifications

• Reads and writes production code in familiar stacks; reviews security-relevant PRs.
• Manually assesses apps and APIs to identify real vulnerabilities and risks.
• Builds secure building blocks and patterns to reduce bugs at the source.
• Performs threat modelling and design reviews for new features.
• Automates security into CI/CD pipelines and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Secure software by embedding practices into developer workflows.
• Review libraries, auth patterns, and secure templates to promote secure defaults.
• Lead incident response efforts for application security issues with logs and root cause analysis.
• Shape security standards and priorities across the engineering teams.
