Hopper is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in the Philippines to own tooling and processes for application security. This role demands hands-on experience in vulnerability management and a strong command of automation. You will work within a small team, utilizing AI tools to enhance productivity and influence secure development practices across engineering.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years in software or platform engineering, using their skills to build secure systems and tools that scale. You’ll also benefit from a creative culture and competitive perks.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years experience in software and/or platform engineering.
• Deep experience in application security and vulnerability management.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally GCP/GKE.
• Demonstrated habit of using AI tools as a core part of building.
• Bias toward automation of repetitive manual tasks.
• Experience influencing engineering culture around security.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve our vulnerability management program focused on application security.
• Build and maintain security tooling that integrates into CI/CD pipelines.
• Use AI extensively to write code faster and automate analyses.
• Assess and improve how we leverage available telemetry.
• Work with engineering teams to influence secure development practices.
• Investigate and respond to security findings as needed.
• Adapt quickly as priorities shift within the agile team.
