Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, business admin, law, or related field required.
• 5+ years in corporate governance & sustainability; 3+ years leading a team.
• Knowledge of Philippine SEC, PSE, ESG reporting; familiar with GRI, SASB, TCFD, ISSB.
• Telco/tech industry experience preferred; project management experience preferred.
• Experience in sustainability reporting or SEC annual compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage long-term ESG plans addressing environmental, social, and governance criteria.
• Monitor KPIs and reports; ensure alignment with targets and commitments.
• Lead stakeholder mapping and governance framework development.
• Prepare statutory submissions including Annual Reports and Sustainability Reports.
• Present governance updates to the Board of Directors and committees.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit, Risk Management, and ESG teams to ensure cohesive governance.
• Upskill team and enhance sustainability capabilities.
• Represent the company in events and external engagements.

Job description

The Governance and Sustainability Senior Manager reports directly to the SVP, Corporate Compliance and Data Protection Officer, Corporate Sustainability Officer, while also leading the Governance and Sustainability Department within the Corporate Governance and Data Privacy Group.

This position is essential for integrating and overseeing the organization’s sustainability and governance efforts, driving the implementation of sustainability metrics and programs while ensuring compliance with governance and reporting requirements. It supports the achievement of the company's sustainability goals by aligning with reporting standards, company vision, and stakeholder expectations. Additionally, this role is expected to work cohesively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the realization of objectives and strategic mandates. The role shall enhance the organization's reputation, attract investment, and streamline both governance and sustainability initiatives, ensuring a unified and effective approach to responsible business practices.

Qualification:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in or related to Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Legal Management, Law, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., GRI, SCR) are advantageous.
• Leadership Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Corporate Governance and Corporate Sustainability, including 3+ years directly managing a team of direct reports.
• Applied understanding of Philippine SEC, PSE, ESG reporting mandates, and foundational Sustainability frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, ISSB).
• Experience in the telco and technology industry is preferred
• Experience in project management is preferred
• Experience in sustainability reporting, or SEC annual compliance

Areas of Responsibility:

Sustainability

• Develop and manage comprehensive long-term sustainability plans addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.
• Ensure alignment of sustainability initiatives with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
• Oversee and collaborate with key partners to implement sustainability initiatives, ensuring they drive progress toward established KPIs and commitments.
• Develop and maintain a stakeholder map, sustainability framework, and roadmap. Conduct stakeholder consultations to gather insights and feedback, integrating these into sustainability strategies.
• Lead the monitoring and reporting of sustainability KPIs, ensuring actions are aligned with targets and driving continuous improvement.
• Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
• Proactively lead and co-lead sustainability initiatives, including the development of core teams and capabilities within the organization.
• Drive efforts to upskill team members and enhance sustainability competencies.

Governance

• Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s governance framework, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ensure governance practices are robust, effective, and aligned with industry standards and legal requirements.
• Develop and enforce company policies and programs, utilizing internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Ensure governance practices are consistently updated to meet changes in laws, regulations, and organizational needs.
• Align governance strategies with industry standards and organizational goals.
• Regularly review and update governance policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes and evolving organizational requirements.
• Prepare and manage statutory submissions, including Annual Reports and Sustainability Reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Present governance initiatives, updates, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and Board Committees.
• Provide support to executives, management, and the Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO) on governance matters.
• Assist in addressing governance-related issues and facilitating effective decision-making.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Internal Audit, Risk Management, and ESG teams, to ensure cohesive and effective governance practices.
