Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids seeks an Electrical Design Engineer specialized in Transformer Design for the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India. You will join an international team delivering advanced transformer solutions across multiple industries.

The role includes influencing specifications at tender stages, preparing electrical design quotations, and creating customer and manufacturing documents, with coordination across a worldwide factory network.

Qualifications

• B.E / B.Tech Electrical Engineering.
• 0 to 1 year of experience in Electrical design for Power Transformers manufacturing industry.
• Understanding of Transformer Electrical Design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics.
• Good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards/ Canadian Standards.
• Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.
• Experience on Microsoft Office and tools.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English.

Responsibilities

• Be part of an international design and engineering team specialized in power transformer design across different countries.
• Influence specifications at tender and pre-tender stages through conceptual discussions.
• Prepare electrical design quotations meeting factory limitations, guidelines, and checklists per project schedule.
• Prepare customer and manufacturing documents, and Bill of Materials per project schedule.
• Coordinate design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Demonstrate team-building and networking skills, with collaboration across global teams.
• Communicate with technical teams in different parts of the world.
