Job summary

RED Engineering Design is seeking a Project Accountant to monitor the financial performance of assigned projects, ensuring accurate project costing, budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, revenue recognition and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include preparing budgets and forecasts, tracking expenditures, allocating costs, reviewing financial performance against plans, preparing invoices, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accountancy, Accounting Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in project-based environments.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
• Monitor project expenditures and ensure costs are allocated correctly.
• Review and analyze project financial performance against approved budgets.
• Prepare client invoices and monitor project billings.
• Assist in revenue recognition and project accounting compliance.
• Reconcile project-related transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with project managers regarding project costs, budget utilization, and profitability.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial reports and management reports related to project performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and contractual requirements.
• Assist in audits and provide supporting financial documentation as required.
