Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in Power Transformers for our Global Engineering Center. You will work within an international design team to develop transformer concepts and prepare drawings, BOMs and customer submissions.

The role requires 2–7 years of mechanical design experience for transformers, proficiency in English, and coordination with global factories. Knowledge of customer drawings and fabrication drawings is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–7 years’ experience in mechanical design for Power Transformers.
• Experience in Customer drawings & fabrication drawings.
• Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.
• Additional languages knowledge is an advantage.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare General Arrangement, fabrication drawings and BOM; submit to customer per schedule.
• Contribute to global design work within an International Design and Engineering Team.
• Develop transformer designs in coordination with Hitachi Energy factories per PO requirements.
• Coordinate design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Participate in internal design concept reviews.
• Maintain compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
