Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Leading multiple cross-functional projects to successful completion that are typically medium to large in scale with moderate risk and impact to the Business/Function.
• Implementing innovative solutions to drive strategic vision of GBS and achieve >80% global standardization.
• Collaborating with Program Manager, business management, stakeholders, and project team members to refine project scope and develop complete project plans.
• Participating in project planning with project client and typically serving as a facilitator.
• Generating communication plans and executing them across the organization to ensure project support.
• Leveraging global resources across GBS and across several disciplines to achieve timely completion of deliverables.
• Serving as a mentor/coach within GBS to drive a culture of process improvement.
• Providing training on project leadership tools, methodologies, and LSS principles to multiple teams.
• Managing and developing team members by providing direction, setting priorities, and fostering collaboration and accountability.

Job Description

As a PI/PMO Leader (Process Improvement and Project Management Office Leader) for GBS (Global Business Services), you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

You will make an impact by:

• Leading multiple cross-functional projects to successful completion that are typically medium to large in scale with moderate risk and impact to the Business/Function.

• Collaborating with Program Manager, business management, stakeholders, and project team members to refine project scope, and oversee development of complete project plans.
• Participating in project planning with project client and typically serves as a facilitator.

• Leveraging global resources across GBS as well as typically across several disciplines, to achieve timely completion of project deliverables.
• Serving as a mentor/coach within GBS to help drive a culture of process improvement at all levels of the organization.
• Providing training on existing project leadership tools, methodologies, and LSS principals to multiple teams.
• Managing and developing team members by providing clear direction, setting priorities, supporting professional growth, and fostering effective collaboration and accountability to achieve project and business objectives.
• Advising site, organization, and functional leadership on continuous improvement strategies that support operational and financial objectives, including cost, cash, productivity, capacity, service, quality, and growth-related outcomes.
• Establishing and managing continuous improvement priorities, operating mechanisms, timelines, and resource plans to ensure improvement initiatives are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable results against project and actual-versus-baseline targets.
• Driving adoption of daily management systems, tier boards, Kaizen events, and frontline problem-solving routines to strengthen employee engagement, improve execution discipline, and embed continuous improvement into day-to-day operations.
• Translating process, execution, information flow, material flow, and master data failure modes into actionable improvement plans that address root causes and improve operational and financial performance across functions, sites, or organizations.
• Managing improvement performance through dashboards, metrics, and leadership reporting to communicate progress, risks, savings, and business impact while ensuring alignment with corporate standards, policies, and 3M values.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

• 10-15 years of related work experience
• 5-7 years of experience specifically in project leadership, process improvement, and continuous improvement
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
