Job summary

Turnitin is seeking a New Associate in Tax to support global indirect tax compliance, streamline tax processes, and build stronger partnerships across Accounting, AR, AP, Collections, and Legal. The role focuses on VAT and Sales tax filings, data collation, and tax technology initiatives.

You will collaborate with the Indirect Tax team to optimize tax operations, stay updated on tax rule changes, and participate in cross-border tax planning.

Qualifications

• Finance degree and 1–3 years of indirect tax experience at an accounting firm.
• Strong accounting fundamentals.
• Financial analysis skills and familiarity with basic AI tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and filing of indirect tax returns (e.g., VAT, Sales tax) accurately and within deadlines.
• Collate financial data, documents, and records required for tax calculations and filings.
• Support the research and implementation of tax technology solutions.
• Collaborate with other teams to improve the tax process in the O2C cycle.
• Support the team in the research and analysis to identify tax opportunities and reduce potential risks.
• Lead the discussions with tax authorities during the tax audits and assessments.
• Support the team in keeping track of changes to the tax rules.
