Job summary

Tap Growth ai is seeking a Global Director - Tax to lead our international tax function, govern compliance, manage risk, and shape strategy across multiple jurisdictions from our Manila hub. This role partners with senior leadership, oversees audits, cross-border tax, and tax technology initiatives while guiding dispersed teams and external advisors to support growth and transformation.

Are you a seasoned tax leader with deep expertise in global tax compliance, governance, and strategy? We are seeking a Global Director - Tax to lead our international tax function, drive compliance excellence, manage tax risk, and provide strategic guidance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

Global Tax Leadership

• Provide strategic oversight of the organization's global tax operations, compliance, and governance programs.

• Lead tax planning initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

• Develop and implement tax policies, processes, and internal controls to mitigate risk and enhance efficiency.

Tax Compliance & Risk Management

• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

• Manage tax audits, assessments, tax controversy matters, and regulatory inquiries.

• Conduct legal tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues and regulatory changes.

• Partner with external tax advisors, legal counsel, and consulting firms as needed.

International Tax & Cross-Border Support

• Support tax requirements across the Philippines, United States, and India, including cross-border tax considerations.

• Collaborate with local consultants and advisory firms to ensure timely and accurate compliance.

• Provide guidance on international expansion initiatives and global tax implications.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, coach, and develop geographically distributed teams.

• Drive organizational capability-building, succession planning, and team development initiatives.

• Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Legal, HR, Operations, and executive leadership teams.

Process Improvement & Transformation

• Lead initiatives involving tax technology, workflow automation, compliance management, and tax control frameworks.

• Support mergers, acquisitions, legal entity restructuring, and tax operating model transformation projects.

• Monitor emerging tax regulations and identify opportunities for process optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Taxation, Law, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.

• Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive tax experience, including 3-5 years in a senior leadership, regional, or global tax role.

• Extensive experience in:

  • Tax audits and assessments

  • Tax controversy matters

  • Legal tax research

  • Tax law and regulatory interpretation

• Strong leadership experience managing geographically dispersed teams.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills.

• Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

• Experience working within multinational, shared services, BPO, healthcare, or professional services environments.

Preferred

• Legal tax background, JD, LLM in Taxation, or similar specialization.

• Experience supporting U.S. and India tax compliance through external advisors or consultants.

• Knowledge of Philippine, U.S., and Indian tax regulations and cross-border tax matters.

• Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions, entity restructuring, and international expansion initiatives.

• Knowledge of transfer pricing and tax accounting, including ASC 740.

• Experience implementing tax technology, automation solutions, and compliance frameworks.
