Accenture in the Philippines is seeking a senior Legal Counsel for its Global Data Privacy Team. The role focuses on data privacy, privacy risk management, and enterprise governance across internal and client-facing functions.

It emphasizes AI, digital, and technology, with preferred IAPP certifications and a Philippine license. Based in Mandaluyong, the role is office-based and involves collaboration with Employment Law and Corporate teams, plus global DP initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years overall experience; 7 years as Data Privacy / Data Protection lawyer.
• Licensed lawyer in the Philippines.
• With 7 years’ Data Privacy / Data Protection experience preferably in Financial Services or Telecoms but NOT required.
• Open to resources with 5 years Data Privacy/Data Protection experience.
• Open to resources who have experience of working as a DPO (Data Privacy Officer or Data Protection Officer) and working with Data Privacy regulators would be very beneficial.
• Preferably had worked in a global environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise and advice to internal corporate and client facing functions globally in respect of data privacy, privacy risk management, privacy reviews, incident handling and individual rights requests.
• Support and drive development or improvement of the data privacy team’s processes and internal tools, and methodologies for governance and risk management in a data privacy context.
• Conduct privacy reviews of new or existing internal projects and/or client facing and other data privacy compliance strategic projects on regional and global scale. Act as an expert on data privacy topics related to the processing of personal data within Accenture’s internal functions and client facing services.
• Effectively work with the regional and local stakeholders to create and maintain suitable privacy review processes and embed privacy by design methodology into relevant business processes.
