This role ensures healthy cash flow and compliance with global financial regulations while balancing positive client relationships.

Essential Job Functions and Duties

Contact global clients via phone, email, and portal to secure timely payments. Negotiate structured repayment schedules and payment plans for past-due accounts. Monitor open order books and manage credit holds and order releases.

Credit Risk and Portfolio Management: Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing global customers using financial statements, bureaus reports, and payment trends. Set and adjust credit limits based on ongoing risk assessments and regional market conditions. Identify high-risk accounts early and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies. Recommend accounts for write-offs or third-party agency collection when necessary.

Dispute Resolution and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Research and resolve complex international billing discrepancies, short payments, chargebacks, and deductions. Partner with global sales, customer service, and shipping teams to clear invoice blocks and delivery proofs. Communicate clearly across international time zones and cultural contexts to maintain strong client ties.

Reporting and Compliance: Maintain accurate, up-to-date collection notes and records in ERP systems. Assist in preparation of cash flow forecasts, aging reports, and risk portfolios for senior finance leadership. Ensure all collection and credit operations adhere to international trade practices, export rules and internal policies.

Cash Application and AR Subledger Governance: Manage and resolve unapplied cash, unidentified payments, credit memos, and customer credit balances across global portfolios. Lead the ongoing cleanup and governance of the Accounts Receivable subledger, partnering with regional finance, treasury, and cash application teams to ensure timely allocation of receipts, accurate aging, and reconciliation of outstanding credit balances. Drive process improvements to enhance cash visibility, reduce unapplied cash exposure, and maintain the integrity of global receivables reporting.

Process Improvement: Identify and support opportunities to standardize and improve credit and collections processes, reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and improve cash flow and overall service delivery.
